Question: Should I push or pull my opponent when they do nothing?

Transcript: So my job is work the zero point the same but I’ve mentioned this before that a Rickson Affiliates is called zero points are these different branches and the zero point is X and concept the zero point is about when I’m it for example in somebody’s guard this relationship of my backside to my heels

it’s pretty important if I completely relax back like this if the person on top connects their weight almost never be able to get my hips back off my lips I’m stuck here I can’t move right equally if I start to make this relationship too big and we get these modern Jiu Jitsu guys talking about active toes it’s equally moronic because it just means that if you know how to use a Gi properly you can pull them in Forever they’re never going to not get pulled into you and they might be able to scramble or whatever but that’s not it’s not Jiu-Jitsu that’s just like when it says a couple with some knowledge so you’re trying to get to this point always around the zero point

But if we’re in a match here and all Joan constantly feels is I want to just push  him around no yeah he just needs to put about this setup right let’s do that again just four minutes set out for you to buy a set out we mean literally this book configuration performs the technical sound that’s all he’s doing is just on a vertical plan right and he’s doing that because basically when I stop pushing I’m really going into a sprawl where I’m putting all my weight in that’s what’s happening so you don’t want to be like lent forward like this with your head in front of your hips yeah you just he just needs to move with you and he needs to almost not invest too much here because you’re putting all the investment in it so if I put him and using all my weight the bigger I am yeah the more I’m giving it so the idea really on me on this is that the my arms are not here to push or to pull here I’m just to block it it’s blocking and I  want to try and get into this idea of the zero point and the zero point is that I’ve got the beginning of a sprawl going here so if Joe tries to push me ultimately my leg will just do this and I’m going to sprawl push me oh I mean there’s no energy impact on that and so there’s no I’m not really putting anything into it

I just create a structure that I’m beginning to sprawl on it as soon as he pushes me yeah but that’s my so so that’s for him pushing me she’s pushing me I’m thinking about my sprawl so  think about this leg because the leg that points at him that really doesn’t work but he begins to pull me I feed him my hip push me I’m beginning my sprawl and I’m just playing with this and that’s all I really want to do I don’t want to push or pull him I want him to put the work in yeah this could be then becomes like Finance at the moment all this what pool that is let them do it and so then you can get into the thing you need to think well no one’s going to move but they will move it’s just Logan is that patient they’ll start trying to make something happen we’ll start twisting the shoulders a bit can I get up under this elbow and just start just to make something happen someone will do it I can guarantee it no one has that much patience so the game actually is not to push or pull them at all it’s to get yourself ready to push or pull and then if you need to do as a minimal as little as possible to make them do something and then you try to take advantage of it if it approaches at full and as long as you know this is going to stop you from driving into you and this is going to stop them pulling you and this don’t let your feet get like this because now you don’t know anything you’re going to get slave so you’re just trying to get into this zero point concept Push Pull switch over this is going to be push prevention and sprawl and necessarily core prevention style okay let’s give that a go so we can just you can just do all the grips through everything we’ve just done but just this emphasis on not leaning all your weight on somebody.
